What is Sateen Weaving in Cotton?

In sateen weaving, long-staple cotton threads pass over several threads (usually 4 or more) and then under one thread only. The thread count refers to the number of threads per square inch (including both warp and weft). This weaving technique creates a natural cotton fabric with satin-like softness, sheen, and durability.
