Care & Washing Instructions

Silk requires special care, and any mistake in washing may damage the product:

• Can be hand-washed (avoid strong rubbing).
• Can be machine-washed inside a mesh laundry bag at 30°C on the gentlest cycle with minimal spin.
• Do not tumble dry; avoid strong direct sunlight—air-dry in the shade is recommended.
• Keep away from pets and sharp objects to avoid snags or scratches.

• To produce 1 kg of silk, about 3,000 silkworms consume 104 kg of mulberry leaves, and it takes nearly 5,000 silkworms to make a pure silk kimono.
• The unit of measurement for silk smoothness is Momme Mulberry Silk, which ranges from 1 to 29 the higher the number, the smoother and denser the silk.
• At Karaz Linen, we use silk in two smoothness levels: 19 Momme or 25 Momme.
