Natural Silk Production

Natural silk is produced from silkworm cocoons nourished by mulberry leaves.

• Producing 1 kilogram of silk requires approximately 3,000 silkworms and nearly 104 kilograms of mulberry leaves.
• A traditional pure silk kimono may require around 5,000 silkworms to produce.
• Silk quality is measured using the Momme scale, ranging from 1 to 29. The higher the Momme rating, the denser and more luxurious the silk becomes. This pillowcase is crafted from premium 19 Momme Mulberry silk.

Natural Silk Care Instructions

To preserve the beauty and luxurious quality of natural silk, please follow these care guidelines:

• Hand wash gently without excessive rubbing.
• Alternatively, machine wash inside a protective mesh laundry bag.
• Wash at temperatures not exceeding 30°C using the gentlest cycle available.
• Use a mild liquid detergent or a detergent specifically formulated for silk.
• Minimize spin time whenever possible.
• Do not use bleach.
• Do not tumble dry.
• Hang to dry away from direct sunlight.
• Keep away from pets and sharp objects.
